We do!! I have 70 monarch caterpillars crawling around in our aquarium (in addition to 40+ eggs and babies that are still outside). I have about 25 black swallowtails, 13 zebra longwings, and a few gulf fritillaries and queens.
I need your thoughts/feedback/help. (This is an invitation for anyone who reads this) I have been thinking of having a science time where your kids could come and learn everything they ever wanted to know about these caterpillars and butterflies. When you leave you could take some of the seeds for the plants that the monarchs and queens eat and that attract many other butterflies -
start your own butterfly garden.
OR
You could adopt a caterpillar (or more) if you want to watch at home the whole process of it becoming a butterfly. You would just have to find a good-sized milkweed plant for it to eat.
Let me know which you would be more interested in. I'm trying to figure out a way to feed these things.
